The Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange (ADX) closed in the red on Tuesday, resuming Sunday’s losses. The benchmark index fell 1.12% or 55.21 pts to 4891.58 pts.

Around 81.64 million shares were traded, worth AED 271.6 million through the execution of 2306 transactions. A total of 31 companies traded, of which 21 retreated, 7 gained and 3 stabilised at previous levels.

Market performance was mixed as the real estate and investment sectors led decliners, dropping 4.79% and 4.59%, respectively. Meanwhile, the insurance, services and industrial sectors reported the only gains today, adding 1.35%, 1.25% and 0.39%, respectively.

Al Dhafra Insurance topped gaining stocks, after soaring by 14.36%, followed by Abu Dhabi National Hotels (ADNH) with 7.14%. On the other hand, the National Marine Dredging Company (NMDC) topped losers, dropping 9.83%, followed by Finance House (FH), Arkan and Aldar Properties, which shed 8.33%, 5.88% and 5.37%, respectively.

Eshraq Properties and Aldar Properties recorded the highest trade volume as 24.18 million shares and 22.5 million shares were exchanged through the execution of 306 and 635 transactions, respectively.
